Write That Script!
Screenwriting Workshop with Rafidah Abdullah
“If it can be written or thought, it can be filmed”
— Stanley Kubrick
A good film begins with a good script. Where do you start? How do you write a script that is worthy of being produced? In this 10-week workshop, award-winning Malaysian scriptwriter Rafidah Abdullah takes you step-by-step through the process of writing a screenplay. The course explores basic narrative structure and topics — theme, plot, character, conflict, dialogue — along with common pitfalls awaiting the novice writer. At the end of the workshop, participants will have written a complete step outline for a feature film, as well as the first 25 pages or more of the film’s script. Best of all, participants will get a chance to ‘pitch’ their scripts some of the industry’s top film producers and directors.
